Defending People Charged With Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

Recent years have seen a marked increase in DUI drug arrests in Colorado. Law enforcement officers are better trained to recognize the signs of driving under the influence of drugs. Prosecutors are more aggressive in filing charges and in seeking convictions. Even if you have a prescription, you can be charged with DUI Drugs (DUID), and convicted if it can be shown that you were an impaired driver.

If you have been charged with DUID, you need knowledgeable, aggressive legal representation.

I am Timothy A. Meinert, an attorney who has been defending people charged with DUID and drug charges for more than 15 years. Before that, I was a prosecutor in Adams County and for the Fifth Judicial District of Colorado with extensive experience in drug and DUI cases.

If you have been charged with DUID or a drug charge, I will work tirelessly to defend your rights and freedom. Contact me today for a free consultation with a lawyer.

Aggressively Defending Your Rights and Freedom

Many of the potential defenses in a DUID case are the same as those for DUI. Lack of probable cause for the police to stop you, your actual driving behavior or other factors could provide the key to a successful outcome. In a marijuana-related case, a urine test will not reveal the presence of active THC during the period you were driving, and it may be possible to challenge the results of a blood test on similar grounds. If you refuse to submit to a chemical test in a DUID case, you may lose your drivers license for one year. If you submit to a chemical test in a DUID case, the Dept. of motor vehicles cannot revoke your driver's license.

Careful scrutiny and aggressive representation can reveal the weaknesses in a prosecutor's case. I will examine every aspect of the evidence against you, looking for a way to obtain a dismissal of the charge or reduction to a lesser traffic offense.

Your future is too important not to obtain experienced representation. I will fight for your rights and freedom.
