Protecting Your Future

Depending on the circumstances of your case, it may be possible to obtain a dismissal of the charge or a reduced charge. Whenever possible, I will seek to overcome the charge based on the facts and the law. Sometimes ambiguities regarding specific evidence can be sufficient to enable me to obtain a dismissal or convince the prosecutor to reduce the charge. If necessary, however, I will aggressively defend you at trial.

Your future is important. I will work to protect that future.

Avoiding Conviction and Punishment

It may be possible to avoid a conviction, punishment, and a permanent criminal record in many misdemeanor cases. In Colorado, a number of deferred sentencing programs are available in certain situations. Under these programs, a conviction is not entered into your record immediately. If you stay out of trouble and comply with the court's terms, after a period of time the charge is dismissed and your record is sealed.

It may be possible to obtain such an outcome for you, provided that your record is otherwise clean and the crime is not egregious. Each county has different criteria it uses to determine eligibility for these programs. I understand these various programs and how to work with prosecutors and judges to obtain these outcomes.

If you are an appropriate candidate for a deferred sentencing outcome, I can work to obtain it for you.
